Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus region, covering Jakarta, Jawa Timur, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, has secured the prestigious PROPER Emas certification for environmental management from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH) in the 2025 PROPER Awards. This achievement is driven by the implementation of two key initiatives: the Eco Innovation program for FAME reception via pipeline and the Lentera Pagesangan community empowerment program, which emphasizes sustainability and circular economy principles.

Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV. Dumatubun, highlighted that the award reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering social and environmental innovations across its operational areas. “The PROPER Emas recognition underscores Pertamina Patra Niaga’s dedication to ESG principles. Among the seven units that achieved this status, the IT Surabaya initiative stands out as a successful model of sustainable community-driven change,” he stated in a press release on Sunday (12/4/2026).

Transformasi Sistem Penerimaan FAME

The Eco Innovation program for FAME reception has significantly transformed operational processes, shifting from truck-based systems to direct pipeline delivery from ships. This transition not only enhances operational efficiency and safety but also reduces environmental impact. As a result, the program has managed to cut global warming potential by up to 45.6%.

Pengelolaan Limbah Berbasis Komunitas

Lentera Pagesangan, rooted in the Balik Kanan movement, encourages communities to reframe their perspective on waste and rivers, transforming them from sources of problems into valuable resources. The initiative actively engages the public in domestic wastewater and river water management through the use of eceng gondok filters. This approach has yielded measurable outcomes, such as annual water savings of 345.21 m³, utilization of 83 kg of organic waste, and a cost reduction of Rp 911,418 per year. Additionally, it has benefited around 1,141 individuals, both directly and indirectly.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, Ahad Rahedi, emphasized that the program’s success hinges on community involvement as a primary driver of change. “Lentera Pagesangan demonstrates that environmental transformation can begin at the community level. Through strong collaboration, local residents have effectively converted surrounding resources into assets that improve both environmental quality and collective well-being,” he noted.
