Bos Baru The Fed Buka Suara, Saatnya BI Tentukan Nasib Bunga Hari Ini

Indonesia’s financial markets closed with mixed results yesterday, as the stock exchange weakened while the rupiah strengthened. Wall Street also experienced a decline due to investor concerns about the ongoing conflict and its potential developments. The decision by BI (Bank Indonesia) is expected to influence market sentiment today.

Indeks IHSG Bergerak Negatif, Dua Saham Besar Menjadi Penyumbang Kecurangan

On Tuesday (21/4/2026), the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) ended at 7.559,38, a decrease of 0,46% or -34,73 points. Throughout the trading session, the index remained in the red zone, with a low of 7.511,83 and a high of 7.568,99. A total of 386 stocks rose, 264 fell, and 168 remained unchanged. Trading volume reached Rp 17,8 trillion, involving 41,14 billion shares in 2,68 million transactions.

Mengutip Refinitiv, the majority of sectors actually closed in the green, but sharp corrections in three stocks prevented the IHSG from breaking into positive territory.

Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) and Barito Renewables Energy (BREN) dropped significantly, dragging the IHSG down by -43,21 points and -23,06 points respectively. This follows the possibility of these stocks being removed from the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) index. MSCI had previously announced that shares categorized under High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) might be excluded from the index, aligning with global policies. BREN and DSSA are among the nine HSC stocks listed by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and the Central Securities Depository (KSEI).

Meanwhile, the rupiah closed stronger against the US dollar (USD) at Rp17.140/US$ on Tuesday, marking a 0,15% appreciation. This continued a positive trend after the previous day’s 0,09% increase to Rp17.165/US$. The currency appreciated from the opening session, hitting Rp17.125/US$ initially and even reaching Rp17.100/US$ before some gains were reversed by the end of the day.

Pasar Obligasi Tetap Stabil, Bursa AS Turun

For the fifth consecutive day, the yield on government securities (SBN) remained at 6,583%. In contrast, US markets faced pressure as Wall Street declined. The S&P 500 closed down 0,63% at 7.064,01, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0,59% to 24.259,96. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 293,18 points or 0,59% to 49.149,38.
